Let’s get our hearts and minds ready for Earth Day by gathering in the Huey’s Community Garden on April 21st, 11am - 2pm. This will include planting some vegetables, herbs, and blueberry bushes. We will also be painting numbers on the raised bed and painting plant markers. We will also have extra tomato plants for sale for $3 each to raise money. Tree Planting in Washington Bottoms

Rescheduled to February 10th due to the weather. Join us to plant native oak trees at Washington Bottoms!

Memphis City Beautiful and MidtownMemphis.org are glad to support the ongoing work of our partner, Memphis Native Tree Works, in the rejuvenation and restoration of this inner city greenspace, located in the heart of midtown. We need volunteers to assist with the planting of 60 small oak trees, as well as mulching and ongoing maintenance tasks.

Respond to this need to reserve your spot for a fun and rewarding event! Plan to dress comfortably for the outdoors and wear closed toed shoes. Water will be provided, but please bring your own cup or bottle if possible.

Please email Annalise Riekerk with any questions or concerns: annalise@theworkscdc.org

MLK Day of Service: Community Garden Prep

Join us as we prepare the Huey's Community Garden for spring planting.  We will be laying cardboard, wetting the cardboard, and spreading either wood chip mulch or garden soil on 3 different areas of the garden.  Others will be moving around some compost, cutting back plants that are ready to be removed for the season, and spray painting numbers using stencils on signs that we will use to number the raised beds. Register with Volunteer Odyssey.

Public Meeting to Discuss proposed Changes in the UDC

Not sure what that is, or why you should want to know?

The Unified Development Code contains the rules and regulations that give us the City we want to have in the future.

The UDC regulations apply all across the City affecting every neighborhood, home, and every business. The significant proposed changes in these regulations will change what uses are allowed and the urban design for how they can be built.

Come and learn how the proposed changes might affect you!
